To obtain a greater extraction of aromatic components manual handling was done to enhance the flavors and tannins. Malolactic fermentation and then a step of French oak for 8 months, to achieve a perfect integration between the wood / fruit. The wine is well balanced, excellent natural acidity, with fruit aromas, toasted bread, vanilla and caramel.

Robert Parker The Wine Advocate
The lively color of the 2013 Tonel 46 Malbec speaks about a fresh wine with good acidity. The fruit is sourced from the zone of Chacayes in Tunuy√°n in the Uco Valley. The wine matured in second-use French oak barrels and its aromas are still quite obvious, but the concentration of fruit and the notes of ripe cherries, plums and blueberries intermixed with some violets are also strong. They also are noticeable in the palate, where you feel a lot of licorice. The tannins are very smooth and it has good freshness. I'd like to see how this evolves in bottle, as I believe it will get better over time. 40,000 bottles produced.
