"Truly a vineyard in the bottle, intensely earthy, gamey, luscious red raspberries in the warm sun. -Charles Smith 90% Grenache, 10% Syrah From the Armada Vineyard, of Cayuse and Christophe Baron fame. Armada Vineyard ia a very stony, ancient riverbed, located on the floor of the Walla Walla Valley. This vineyard is one of the very few in the Valley that is farmed biodynamically. ""The Boy"" was the first wine Charles Smith made that was not Syrah and as a result, put the ""K"" on the back label. Of course, this left a simple white label, reminiscent of the Beatles White Album. However, one thing lead to another and it all left Charles thinking of yet another musical artist, French chanteur Serge Gainsbourg and his song, The Boy. The lyric's go ""I'm the boy who can enjoy invisibility,"" a sentiment much appreciated by Charles. Thus K The Boy label came to be."
