Introducing Le Petit Ducru, a newcomer carefully curated from our esteemed St-Julien vineyards. The name itself carries affection and information, providing wine enthusiasts with insights into its positioning and aspirations.

Le Petit Ducru serves as a delightful introduction to the Borie signature, extending a courteous invitation to explore the exceptional qualities of its esteemed predecessors, Ducru-Beaucaillou and La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou. From its intricate complexity to well-balanced structure and elegant demeanor, there exists a family resemblance and a harmonious connection between these three nectars. Their common thread lies in a rigorous technical process, meticulous selection, and demanding winemaking. The barrel aging process spans 12 months, with one-third new oak contributing to the richness.

A skillful blend of Cabernet-Merlot, and occasionally featuring a hint of Petit Verdot depending on the vintage, Le Petit Ducru showcases the varietal's adept craftsmanship. The wine presents itself as an intense crimson red velvet, offering complex aromas that beautifully express the freshness of the Cabernets. Stewed red fruit harmoniously mingles with well-controlled toasty notes, resulting in a delicious and superbly broad palate. Elegance and balance define the wine, leading to a beautiful finish and remarkable length.

Blend: 60% Merlot, 36% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot. Le Petit Ducru is not just a wine; it's an enchanting journey into the world of Borie craftsmanship, promising a delightful experience for discerning palates.

"A fine, firm red with berries, currants and light chocolate. Hints of walnuts and hazelnuts. It’s medium-bodied with juicy fruit. Lightly austere, but in a nice way."

"As of 2019, the former Lalande-Borie is now Le Petit Ducru (it was a wine that was always one of my absolute value picks of the appellation, so I was a little sad to learn this). Le Petit Ducru is from young vines because so much of the former Lalande-Borie site is being replanted, but still shows both austerity and power, with crunchy bright fruit, and is extremely good quality. Gourmet edging with chocolate shavings and black pepper spice, the tannins are fine but they close in more strongly on the finish."
