Poggio Al Lupo Cabernet Sauvignon 2022

Poggio al Lupo Cabernet Sauvignon hails from the stunning Maremma region of Tuscany, where coastal terroirs and diverse soils create exceptional conditions for winemaking. The estate, acquired by Antonio Moretti in 1999, spans 115 acres, with 35 acres dedicated to vineyards. The principal vineyard is perched on a southern-facing hillside at 330 feet above sea level, where clay-rich and gravelly soils provide an ideal environment for cultivating Cabernet Sauvignon.

Hand-harvested grapes underwent 25 days of maceration during fermentation, followed by malolactic fermentation to enhance the wine’s complexity. The wine was aged for 18 months in 100% new French Allier oak barriques, then spent an additional 6 months in the bottle before release.

Tasting Notes
This wine showcases a deep, opaque purple color, indicating its rich extraction and intensity. Aromas of jammy black fruits are complemented by notes of cedar, creating a full-bodied palate with silky tannins and a long, penetrating finish.

Food Pairing
Perfect for pairing with bold, full-flavored meats and aged hard cheeses.
