Tasting Notes

  • Appearance: A deep ruby-red hue with violet reflections, highlighting its youthful vibrancy.
  • Aroma: Intense and inviting, the nose opens with notes of ripe blackberries, cassis, and red currants, layered with hints of fresh herbs, bell pepper, and earthy undertones.
  • Palate: The palate is bold yet refined, with flavors of dark fruit, tobacco, and a touch of spice. Silky tannins and bright acidity create a beautifully balanced structure, leading to a long, satisfying finish with whispers of cocoa and vanilla.

Winemaking
Sourced from high-altitude vineyards in Mendoza, the grapes are hand-harvested to ensure optimal ripeness. After meticulous vinification, the wine is aged in French oak barrels, imparting complexity and depth while allowing the varietal character to shine.

The 2021 growing season in Mendoza offered ideal conditions, with warm days and cool nights that allowed for slow, even ripening. This resulted in exceptional fruit quality, concentrated flavors, and vibrant acidity, all hallmarks of this outstanding vintage.

James Suckling

"A super-drinkable, linear cabernet franc showing a mixture of blue plums and red cherries with a fresh mineral quality. Juicy, fresh and expressive on the palate, with a medium body and a long, extensive finish. Streamlined, with nothing redundant. Pretty irresistible now, but can hold."

Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

"The 2021 Cabernet Franc is similar to the 2019 I tasted next to it and feels like the fruit is darker than the 2020 that I also had the chance to compare it with. It's still young and energetic, with abundant fine-grained tannins and a chalky, dry finish. 23,500 bottles produced. It was bottled in July 2022."

Vinous

"The 2020 Cabernet Franc incorporates a 10% touch of Malbec and originates from Gualtallary in the Uco Valley. It underwent a 15-month aging process in used foudres. It's a dark and intense purple color. The nose reveals notes of ashes and herbs, interwoven with a subtle hint of jalapeño, set against a backdrop of black fruit and cedar. Dry and delicately lean, the palate is tightly structured and juicy, thanks to its fine-grained tannins. The vibrant palate concludes with a lingering thyme finish."
