Captain Morgan Spiced Rum

Captain Morgan Original Spiced is bottled at 35% in the US, or 70 proof, a little lighter than a standard rum. Owned by Diageo, it is made from aged Caribbean rum blended with spice and fruit flavors and finished with vanilla, and the rum for US bottles comes from the US Virgin Islands.

It is sweet and smooth, with vanilla and caramel up front and soft baking spice behind, easy to drink with a mixer.

Pick the Captain when you want a sweet, familiar spiced rum for cola. For a drier, spicier bottle with more rum character, try Chairman's Reserve Spiced; for something darker and stronger, Kraken Black Spiced.

Serve it over ice with cola and a lime wedge, or with ginger beer. It also works in hot buttered rum or a holiday punch, where the vanilla and spice carry through the other ingredients.
