Jam Jar Sweet White Wine

Jam Jar is a South African wine brand from Cape Classics, a New York City company, made with fruit sourced from the Western Cape. The brand says its wines have no artificial flavors, no added sugar and no artificial coloring, and that the fruit is sustainably farmed.

Sweet White is a Moscato: the brand calls it "an easy-drinking Moscato," and Spec's lists it as Sweet White Muscat. It's about 10% alcohol, and the 750ml bottle has a screw cap. It's also sold here as a 187ml single-serve bottle.

The brand describes peach, apricot, lychee and orange blossom, with "a lively jolt of acidity" keeping the sweetness fresh.

Against Gallo Family Sweet Pineapple, Jam Jar is a grape-driven Moscato rather than a fruit-flavored wine; for a sweet white to pair with spicy food, choose Jam Jar.

Spec's suggests serving it chilled with spicy Asian dishes. Try it with Thai green curry, Sichuan noodles, Korean fried chicken or a peach tart, and keep the 187ml size on hand when you want just a glass or two.
