Kentucky Owl 11 Year Straight Rye Whiskey Batch No. 02 101.8 Proof 750ml

Kentucky Owl began as a bourbon with a cult following, and after the Stoli Group bought the brand in 2017 it widened into rye. This is the second batch of its straight rye: 11 years old, blended by Dixon Dedman and bottled at 101.8 proof.

Batch 2 was smaller than the first and came in at a lower proof, so it drinks softer: honey, cinnamon and warm cinnamon rolls on the nose, a streak of strawberry jam, then brown sugar and cinnamon candy on the palate, finishing with honey and a little red pepper that lingers.

It's a collector's rye, and an easy one to drink. For another rare, older Kentucky rye, look at the Parker's Heritage 10 Year, which is bigger and stronger.

Sip it neat, slowly, with a drop of water if you like.
