Luc Belaire Rare Rose 750ml

Luc Belaire is a French sparkling wine brand owned by Sovereign Brands of New York. It's made by sixth-generation winemakers at a Maison established in 1898, with the grapes for Rare Rosé grown in Provence. It's known for its opaque black bottle.

Rare Rosé is 90% Syrah, 5% Grenache and 5% Cinsault, rested six months in stainless steel tanks, and finished with a dosage made entirely from Syrah, which gives it its deep pink color. It carries about 25 grams per liter of sugar, so it drinks off-dry rather than bone dry. It's 12.5% alcohol and sealed with a cork.

Expect a garnet-rose color and fine bubbles, then fresh strawberry and blackcurrant on a fruit-forward, smooth palate with a long finish.

Against Luc Belaire Rare Luxe, Rare Rosé is the pink, Syrah-based bottle; for a fruity rosé sparkler, choose Rare Rosé.

Serve it at about 43°F; colder than that mutes the fruit.
