Louis Latour Macon-Lugny Les Genievres 2024 750ml

Maison Louis Latour has been a family-owned Burgundy house since 1797. Les Genièvres comes from the village of Lugny in the southern Mâconnais.

The 2024 is 100% Chardonnay from vines about 30 years old on clay and limestone. It fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats with complete malolactic fermentation, then aged eight to ten months in steel, so it's round but not oaky.

Latour describes a brilliant pale gold wine with acacia, honeysuckle and delicate vanilla on the nose, then a round, generous palate of yellow fruit and an elegant, long finish.

Against Jadot Mâcon-Villages, Les Genièvres comes from a single village and has a rounder texture; for a step up in Mâcon, choose Latour.

The house suggests grilled fish, seafood or Comté cheese. Serve it at 10 to 12°C and drink it within two to three years.
