Metaxa 5 Stars Brandy 750ml

F88

Metaxa 5 Stars is the everyday blend from the House of Metaxa, founded by Spyros Metaxa in 1888 and owned by Rémy Cointreau. Like all Metaxa it combines pot-distilled grape brandy with aged Muscat wine and a botanical infusion with rose petals, and it is bottled at 38%.

The stars are a quality rating, not an age statement. It is light and sweet, with a floral finish from the rose and Muscat.

For a smooth, inexpensive brandy to mix or sip on ice, Metaxa 5 Stars is a good buy. For a richer, older Metaxa, step up to Metaxa 12 Stars; for a California mixer, compare E&J VSOP.

Serve it on ice, or with ginger ale or tonic and a slice of orange.

Metaxa is technically a Greek spirit rather than a pure brandy, because of the Muscat wine in the blend. More bottles are under brandy and cognac, and the rest of our liquor is a click away. Pick it up at our Brooklyn store or get same-day delivery across NYC.
