New York Distilling Company Mister Katz's Rock & Rye 750ml

New York Distilling Company makes Mister Katz's Rock & Rye in Brooklyn from its own rye whiskey, sweetened with rock candy and flavored with sour and Bing cherries, cinnamon and a hint of citrus. It is bottled at 65 proof, or 32.5%. The distillery's co-founders are Allen Katz and Tom Potter, who also co-founded Brooklyn Brewery.

It is amber and gently sweet, with cherry and cinnamon over spicy rye and a soft citrus finish.

Rock & rye was a pre-Prohibition bar classic, and this is the Brooklyn version. Buy it for an easy Old Fashioned in one pour, or for a whiskey drinker who likes a little sweetness.
