Molinari Sambuca Extra 750ml

Angelo Molinari created his sambuca in Civitavecchia, the port northwest of Rome, in 1945. Molinari Extra is built on star anise and bottled at 42%.

Pure, sweet anise and fennel lead the nose. The palate is thick and grows rounder with each sip, and ice or coffee softens the alcohol while the licorice keeps singing.

If you want anise without the sweetness, choose Ricard or Ouzo 12 with water. Buy Molinari for the after-dinner glass, for a splash in espresso, or for anyone who grew up with a bottle on the family table.

Serve it con la mosca, with three coffee beans floating in the glass, or add a splash to an espresso for a caffè corretto. Over ice it turns slightly cloudy and softer. It is best poured small.
