Peerless Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey 109.05 Proof 750ml

Peerless Small Batch is made by Kentucky Peerless Distilling Co. in Louisville, a family brand that dates to 1889 and began distilling again in 2015. It uses a sweet mash, with no backset added, and this batch is bottled at about 109 proof.

It is bold and spicy, with toffee, orange peel, cherry and floral notes over clove, cardamom and pepper. Each small batch is bottled at its own proof, so the strength varies a little from one release to the next.
