Roederer Estate Brut Anderson Valley 750ml

Roederer Estate is the California outpost of Champagne Louis Roederer, now run under Frédéric Rouzaud, the house's seventh-generation head. The estate is in Philo, in Mendocino County's Anderson Valley.

The Brut is made by the traditional method from estate-grown fruit: 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir, with 10 to 15% oak-aged reserve wine drawn from several vintages. The base wine ferments in stainless steel, and the wine spends at least two years on the lees, according to the US distributor. The dosage is 8 grams per liter. It's a multi-vintage blend, with the current release built mainly on 2021, and it's 12.5% alcohol.

The winery calls it "crisp and elegant", with pear, spice and hazelnut, and a fresh, lightly fruity palate with finesse and depth.

Against J. Roget Brut, Roederer Estate is made by the traditional method with two years on lees; for a toast or a gift, choose Roederer Estate.

The producer says it can age 8 to 10 years. Serve it well chilled with oysters, fried chicken or salty snacks.
