Teremana Blanco is an unaged, 100% blue Weber agave tequila from the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, bottled at 40% alcohol. We stock it in 750ml and 1L bottles.
Teremana was founded by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. It is made in small batches at Destilería Teremana in Jesús María: mature highland agave is roasted in brick ovens and distilled in handmade copper pot stills.
Expect roasted agave, salted lime and bright citrus on the nose, then a fresh, smooth palate with agave, citrus and pineapple. Wine Enthusiast (Kara Newman) gives it 92 points, noting bell pepper, lemon peel, almond and marshmallow sweetness with a white-pepper finish.
It is a lot of tequila for the price, and one of the best mixing blancos in its range.
Use it in margaritas or palomas, as the critic suggests, or sip it over ice with lime.
