Vecchio Amaro del Capo 750ml

Vecchio Amaro del Capo is made by the Caffo family in Calabria from 29 herbs, flowers, fruits and roots of the region, licorice, anise, mint and orange among them. It is bottled at 35%, and in Calabria it is served straight from the freezer.

Root beer-like herbs, honey and vanilla meet fresh aniseed and mint, and a spicy finish keeps the sweetness lively.

If you like Averna but want something brighter and more minty, this is the next bottle to try. For the softest amaro on our shelf, there is Ramazzotti.

Keep the bottle in the freezer and pour it into a small chilled glass after dinner. Before dinner, it mixes well with soda and an orange slice. Bring it out with dessert, too; it pairs well with dark chocolate.
