Things to Do in Brooklyn

Coming up with a list of things to do in Brooklyn can be a daunting task. We are here to help you sort through what to do so you can plan your perfect weekend, vacation, or road trip.
Free Things to Do in Brooklyn
Constructed in 1883, the Brooklyn Bridge has provided a vital link between Manhattan and Brooklyn, but these granite pillars and steel cables are more than a means of connection for millions of New Yorkers and tourists. It also stands as an iconic feature of the New York City skyline and countless Instagram-worthy pictures.
Prospect Park is the second-largest park in Brooklyn (after Marine Park). Architects Calvert Vaux and Frederick Law Olmstead, who also designed Central Park, dubbed Prospect Park as their masterpiece. With 526 acres and a plethora of wildlife, it is the perfect place to spend an afternoon with friends enjoying a picnic or taking in the sights.
While Coney Island is most closely associated with a famous hot dog eating contest, it offers much more than delectable meats. From movie nights to concerts to the Luna Park amusement park, the area is effectively New York’s playground. If you need something to do towards the end of June, don’t miss the Coney Island Mermaid Parade, which is the largest art parade in the United States.
