Avión Reserva Cristalino is a 100% agave añejo tequila from Jesús María in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, filtered clear and bottled at 40% alcohol in a 750ml bottle with its gift box.
Avión is owned by Pernod Ricard and launched Reserva Cristalino in February 2022. It blends 12-month añejo with a touch of three-year extra añejo, then charcoal-filters the tequila twice to remove the color. The agave is cooked in brick ovens and distilled twice.
Avión describes a fruity and floral character, with citrus and agave balanced by the barrel. The Beverage Testing Institute gives it 94 points for its agave-forward character, pleasantly tempered by the barrel.
It is a richer cristalino than most, thanks to the extra añejo in the blend; for the amber extra añejo see Avión Reserva 44.
