Moscato is the sweet, fruity, low-alcohol wine made from Muscat grapes. Expect peach, apricot, orange blossom and honeyed grape flavors, usually with a light fizz. Moscato d'Asti from Piedmont, Italy is the classic gently sparkling style, while pink and red Moscato add strawberry and berry notes, and flavored Moscatos bring mango, pineapple and other tropical fruit.
Moscato is the easiest wine to love for new wine drinkers, and a great match for brunch, spicy food, fruit desserts and birthday cake. Serve it well chilled. Most bottles are around 5–10% alcohol, so it is a light, easygoing pour for parties.
