Tequila Ocho Plata is an unaged, single-estate, 100% blue Weber agave tequila from the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, bottled at 40% alcohol in a 750ml bottle.
Tequila Ocho was the first tequila to name the single field (rancho) and harvest year of its agave on every label, so each release tastes a little different. It is made by Carlos Camarena at the Los Alambiques distillery in Arandas (NOM 1474): ripe agave is cooked in brick ovens, crushed with a roller mill and distilled in copper pot stills.
Expect intense cooked agave with citrus, herbs, black pepper and minerals, a lively, full palate and a long, clean finish. Tequila Matchmaker verified Ocho as additive-free in 2020.
