Lecinquevigne means “the five vineyards”: it blends Nebbiolo from sites in Barolo, Grinzane Cavour and Monforte. After fermentation in stainless steel, it ages 24 months in large oak casks and another 12 months in bottle.
Expect dried roses, violets, wild strawberry, licorice and orange peel with leather, tobacco and a savory depth, then firm, ripe tannins and a long, fresh finish. James Suckling gives it 95 points and Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 92.
