Ramos Pinto Duas Quintas Red 2022 is a dry red wine from the Douro Valley in Portugal, made by the Port house Ramos Pinto, founded in 1880 by Adriano Ramos Pinto.
Duas Quintas means “two estates”: Quinta de Ervamoira, warm and rocky on the banks of the Côa river, and Quinta dos Bons Ares, a cooler, higher granite site that adds freshness. The blend is 51% Touriga Nacional and 26% Touriga Franca with other Douro grapes, aged about 12 months in a mix of French oak and stainless steel.
Expect blackberry, raspberry and strawberry with gentle spice and a toasty, smoky note, generous tannins and a balanced finish. Wine Enthusiast gives it 90 points and calls it one of the brands behind the Douro's revival in the 1990s.
