Mexican law lets tequila makers add small amounts of glycerin, oak extract, caramel color and sweet syrups without listing them on the label, and many big brands do. Additive-free tequila is made with nothing but cooked agave, water and yeast, aged only in barrels, so what you taste is the agave and the distillery.
This collection gathers the bottles we carry that are known to be additive-free, including Siete Leguas, Tequila Ocho, G4, Pasote, Cazcanes, Siempre, ArteNOM, 123 Organic, Tapatio, Don Fulano and Patrón Silver, across blanco, reposado, añejo and extra añejo. Many producers are verified through independent programs such as Tequila Matchmaker's. Brands and bottlings can change, so check with the producer if it matters to you.
