It is made with 100% barley malted at the distillery itself, a tradition Balvenie still keeps alive, then matured in American oak and finished in European oak sherry butts from Jerez. The 1931 Collection was created by malt master Kelsey McKechnie with artist Daniel Arsham, as a tribute to Balvenie's 88-year-old release, the oldest whisky in its history.
Expect honeyed malt with creamy toffee, barley sugar, ginger, raisins and smooth baking spice, over a gentle oak backbone.
