PlumpJack Reserve Chardonnay Napa Valley 2023 is a dry white wine from Napa Valley, California, bottled at 14.2% alcohol under a screw cap.
It blends fruit from cool, fog-swept Los Carneros for acidity with warmer St. Helena for richness. About two-thirds is fermented in stainless steel and one-third in French oak barrels, and the wine skips malolactic fermentation to keep it fresh.
Expect lemon, lime, green apple and wet stone with melon, nectarine and honeysuckle and a touch of cinnamon from the oak. The palate is rich and round yet lifted by bright acidity, like a tangy lemon custard, with a long, mineral finish.
If big, buttery California Chardonnay is too much for you, this is the fresher, crisper Napa style.
Serve it chilled with lobster, scallops, grilled fish, roast chicken or mushroom risotto.
