Cazcanes Nuestras Raíces Still Strength Blanco Edición Especial 2026 is an unaged agave spirit (destilado de agave) made from 100% blue Weber agave in Jalisco, Mexico, bottled at still strength, 48.1% alcohol, in a 750ml bottle. It is not certified as tequila.
Nuestras Raíces ("our roots") is an annual release that Cazcanes makes with distiller Humberto Alvarado near La Estancita, Jalisco, from a family recipe. The agave is cooked in an autoclave heated by wood-fire steam, chopped by ax and shredded with a 50-year-old Chevy engine, fermented in the open air with wild yeast and spring water, and distilled twice. The 2026 batch took 12 months and came to under 12,000 liters.
Expect citrus pith, wet stone and herbs, bright and mineral. Agave Matchmaker's reviewer panel scores the 2026 edition 90; the first edition, in 2025, earned 100 points from Wine Enthusiast (Kara Newman).
