Laphroaig 10 Year is the flagship of the Laphroaig Distillery on the south coast of Islay, founded in 1815. It is aged ten years in ex-bourbon barrels and bottled at 43% for the US.

Laphroaig still malts some of its own barley over peat fires, and this is one of the most strongly flavoured malts in Scotland: smoke, seaweed and iodine, with smoked fish and bacon, a layer of honey and a peppery finish; a little water brings out mint and vanilla.
