Joseph Carr started Josh Cellars in 2007 and named it after his father, Josh, and this Cabernet was the first wine he made under the name.
It's a California Cabernet Sauvignon built from grapes grown across the state's wine regions, and it is marketed by Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits.
The winery describes blackberry, toasted hazelnut and cinnamon, with vanilla and toasted oak on a round, juicy palate. It's soft enough to drink on its own and has enough weight for a pork chop or a seasoned steak; the winery also suggests chocolate desserts.
If you like this and want something with more grip for a dinner, step up to the Decoy California Cabernet, a few dollars more. For a crowd, stay with Josh.
Serve it slightly cool, around 60 to 65°F. Twenty minutes in the fridge is enough on a warm day, and an opened bottle keeps two or three days with the cork back in.
More from the brand is on our Josh Cellars page, and the rest of our Cabernet Sauvignon is a click away. Pick it up at our Brooklyn store or get same-day delivery across NYC.
