Josh Cellars was founded by Joseph Carr and named in honor of his father. The brand is part of the Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits portfolio, based in Stamford, Connecticut.
This rosé carries the California appellation. Josh Cellars doesn't publish the grape varieties for the current release, and Texas grocer H-E-B describes it as made from a unique blend of grapes sourced from distinct California vineyards.
The winery describes it as crisp and light-bodied with bright citrus, with a nose of fresh strawberry, white flowers and stone fruit, and a palate of citrus, white peach and strawberry.
Against La Vieille Ferme Rosé, Josh is the California option with a citrus-led profile; for a crisp rosé from a familiar California name, choose Josh.
Serve it well chilled. The winery pairs it with summer berries, grilled shrimp and ceviche, and it also suits salads, a cheese board or takeout tacos on a warm evening. It's an easy bottle to bring to a barbecue or a rooftop gathering.
