Ron del Barrilito 2 Stars Rum 750ml

Ron del Barrilito 2 Stars Rum is an aged rum from Bayamón, Puerto Rico, bottled at 43% alcohol. Ron del Barrilito has been made by hand by Edmundo B. Fernández, Inc. in Bayamón since 1880.

The rum is aged 3 to 5 years in Oloroso sherry casks, and a small part is infused with dried fruits and spices before aging, a house tradition. There is no added sugar or caramel coloring; the bronze color comes from the casks. Each bottle is labeled and packed by hand.

Expect plum, almond, apricot and vanilla with a light smoky, woody note, then caramelized fruit and sugar cane, with a long, delicate oak finish. The Beverage Testing Institute gives it 89 points and a Silver Medal.

It is drier and more complex than most Puerto Rican rums, so it suits sipping and spirit-forward cocktails as well as a classic daiquiri.
