Taylor Fladgate 20 Year Tawny Port 750ml

Taylor's, sold in the United States as Taylor Fladgate, is a Port house led by CEO Adrian Bridge, with lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia. Its US importer is Kobrand.

The 20 Year Old Tawny is made from Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão and Tinta Amarela. It is a blend of tawnies averaging 20 years, aged in seasoned oak casks of about 600 to 630 liters, losing about 3% a year to the angels' share. Kobrand lists 111 grams per liter of residual sugar and 20% alcohol.

Taylor's describes an amber-tawny color, spicy, jammy and nutty aromas with orange blossom and fine oak, and a rich, concentrated palate with a long, mellow finish.

Against Taylor Fladgate 40 Year Tawny, the 20 Year is a younger blend at a fraction of the price; for a special-occasion tawny you can open often, choose the 20 Year.

Taylor's says it needs no decanting. Serve it slightly chilled at 12 to 16°C. Pair it with fig, almond or caramel desserts, or walnuts and dried fruit.
