Johnnie Walker Blue Label Blended Scotch Whisky 750ml

Blue Label is the top of the regular Johnnie Walker range, a blend with no age statement built from whiskies the company calls its rarest. Johnnie Walker says only about one cask in ten thousand has the character the blenders want for it, and each bottle carries its own serial number.

It's silky and slow: honey and vanilla first, then oak and cocoa, with a long, gentle smoke that builds rather than hits. It's bottled at 40%.

This is the gift bottle when someone has earned it. For a lot of the same polish at half the price, try the 18 Year; if the bottle is going on a New York shelf, the New York edition holds the same whisky in a skyline design.

Johnnie Walker's advice is to sip a little ice-cold water first to cool the palate, then take the whisky neat. A few drops of water open it further.
