Barefoot Pink Moscato

Pink Moscato comes from Barefoot Cellars of Modesto, California, a brand owned by E. & J. Gallo. Barefoot files it in its Sweet and Fruity range, alongside the regular Moscato.

This is a still pink wine, not a sparkling one: Barefoot sells a separate Bubbly Pink Moscato for those who want bubbles. A German trade article on the launch lists it as mostly Moscato with small amounts of Colombard and Riesling, at about 9% alcohol, though that may describe the European version. It comes in several sizes, from a single-serve 187ml bottle up to a 3L.

Barefoot describes Moscato aromas with sweet layers of juicy red fruit, hints of cherry, raspberry and pomegranate, and a vibrant finish.

Against Barefoot Bubbly Pink Moscato, Pink Moscato is still rather than fizzy and costs less; for an easy sweet glass at a cookout or on the couch, choose Pink Moscato.

Serve it well chilled. Barefoot pairs it with spicy appetizers, Chinese takeout, and strawberries with whipped cream.
