Barton Gin

Barton Gin is sold as Barton London Extra Dry Gin, a value brand from Sazerac, bottled at 40%. Sazerac bought Barton Brands in 2009, and the gin is one of the most affordable on our shelf.

It is a straightforward, light, juniper-and-citrus gin made for mixing rather than sipping.

For a party, a punch bowl or a pitcher of gin and tonic, Barton is the budget pick. If you are making Martinis, spend more on Beefeater or Hayman's; for a light, slightly pricier mixing gin, compare New Amsterdam Stratusphere.

Use it with tonic and lime, in a Tom Collins, or in large-batch gin lemonade.
