Bhakta 27 07 Brandy 750ml

Bhakta 27-07 is a limited blend of Armagnac and Calvados, finished in casks that once held Islay Scotch, from Bhakta Spirits. The brand was founded by Raj Bhakta, who earlier founded WhistlePig rye, after he bought a château in Gascony with its stock of old Armagnac.

Because of the Scotch-cask finish it cannot be labelled Armagnac or Calvados, so it is sold simply as brandy, and the smoky Scotch cask is part of its appeal.

For a brandy that will interest whisky drinkers, 27-07 is the bottle to buy. For a very old Armagnac-based blend from the same house, see Bhakta 50 Year; for a classic calvados, try Menorval.

Serve it neat in a tulip glass, with a few drops of water.
