Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey

Fireball is Canadian whisky sweetened and flavored with cinnamon, and it's the best-known party shot in America. It's made by Sazerac, the company behind Buffalo Trace, and bottled at 66 proof.

Strictly speaking, it's a flavored whisky rather than a straight whisky: the sugar and cinnamon flavoring bring it down to 33% and make it sweet enough to drink ice-cold. It tastes like red-hot cinnamon candy, with a little pepper and a warm, sweet finish.

Keep a bottle in the freezer for shots. If you want the heat with some fruit, try Fireball Blazin’ Apple; for a sweeter, gentler flavored whiskey, there's Skrewball Peanut Butter.

Serve it straight from the freezer as a shot, or mix 1 1/2oz with hot apple cider for a quick winter warmer. Half Fireball, half cold-brew coffee over ice also works surprisingly well.
