Giovanni Sordo Barolo Perno 2018 750ml

Giovanni Sordo Barolo Perno 2018 is a classic, terroir-driven Barolo that beautifully expresses the elegance and power of Nebbiolo from the esteemed Perno cru in Monforte d’Alba. Crafted by the Sordo family, this single-vineyard Barolo reflects traditional winemaking, long aging, and a deep respect for Piedmont’s historic vineyards.

The nose is refined and complex, offering aromas of ripe red cherry, dried rose petals, violets, and wild berries layered with notes of licorice, tobacco, leather, and earthy spice. On the palate, it is structured and full-bodied, with firm yet polished tannins supporting flavors of red fruit, tar, baking spice, and subtle oak. The finish is long, savory, and elegant, revealing mineral depth and classic Barolo grip.

Aged to enhance complexity and longevity, the 2018 vintage balances power with finesse, making it an excellent candidate for cellaring while still approachable with decanting. Giovanni Sordo Barolo Perno pairs beautifully with braised meats, truffles, rich pasta dishes, and aged cheeses, and is a standout choice for collectors and lovers of traditional Barolo.
