Inniskillin Vidal Icewine 2023 375ml

Inniskillin is an icewine pioneer in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, and made its first icewine in 1984. Under VQA rules, Ontario icewine grapes must freeze naturally on the vine in a sustained cold below -8°C, and artificial freezing is banned.

For the 2023 vintage the Vidal grapes hung into December and January and were picked at -10°C in the third week of January, all within five days. The wine carries the Niagara Peninsula VQA appellation and is 9.5% alcohol.

The importer's notes for the 2023 Vidal Icewine describe ripe peach, mango and orange peel on the nose, and apricot and citrus on the palate.
