Black Label is the bottle that made Johnnie Walker's name around the world, a blend in which every whisky has spent at least 12 years in oak. The name goes back to 1909, when the Walker family renamed their Extra Special Old Highland blend after the colour of its label.
It's the benchmark for a reason: rich and rounded, with apple, vanilla and caramel up front and a thread of smoke that comes from the west coast and island malts in the mix. It's bottled at 40%.
If you keep one blended Scotch in the house, make it this one. It's smoother and deeper than Red Label, and if you like the smoke, Double Black turns it up a notch.
Pour it neat, over one large cube, or make a highball with soda and a lemon twist; the smoke stands up to the bubbles better than most blends.
We carry it from the 50ml mini up to the 1L, plus a 750ml in the limited Squid Game design. The whole range is on our Johnnie Walker page, and more bottles are under blended Scotch. Pick it up at our Brooklyn store or get same-day delivery across NYC.
