New Amsterdam Stratusphere Gin

New Amsterdam Stratusphere is a separate gin from the original New Amsterdam Gin, not a rename. It is made by E. & J. Gallo in California, from grain, and the brand says it is distilled five times.

It is a light, easy-drinking gin with soft juniper and citrus, priced for parties and everyday mixing.

For big-batch punches or a simple gin and soda, it is the value pick. If you want more juniper and strength for a Martini, spend a little more on Beefeater; for the cheapest bottle on the shelf, see Barton Gin.

Serve it with tonic and lime, in a Tom Collins or in a pitcher of gin lemonade.
