Ruinart, founded in Reims on 1 September 1729, calls itself the first Champagne house, and its rosé carries the Chardonnay-led house style into pink. Caroline Fiot became cellar master in January 2026.
The blend is 45% Chardonnay and 55% Pinot Noir, and of the Pinot, 12% is made as red wine and blended in for color. It uses 20 to 30% reserve wines from 40 to 50 crus, ferments in steel with full malolactic, ages two to three years, and is finished at 8 grams per liter.
Ruinart describes pomegranate, lychee, guava, rose and red berries, then tonka bean and nutmeg, with a fresh finish of peppermint and pink grapefruit.
Next to Ruinart Blanc de Blancs, the rosé has more red fruit and spice; with duck or charcuterie, open the rosé.
The house says to serve it around 8°C in a tulip glass, with oily fish, shellfish or duck.
