A to Z Wineworks was founded in 2002 by Deb Hatcher, Cheryl Francis, Sam Tannahill and Bill Hatcher. It has been a Certified B Corp since May 2014 and joined International Wineries for Climate Action in 2021. In 2022 Ste. Michelle Wine Estates announced it was buying A to Z along with REX HILL.
This is a statewide Oregon Pinot Noir. The winemakers draw fruit from more than 70 vineyard sites across Western Oregon and blend them into one wine. It's 13.5% alcohol.
The winemaker describes ripe red and blue fruit, with strawberry, cherry and raspberry, plus violet, tobacco and wet stone, bright acidity, and cinnamon and anise spice.
Against Calera Central Coast Pinot Noir 2022, A to Z is lighter and costs less; for an everyday Oregon Pinot Noir under $20, choose A to Z.
Serve it slightly cool, around 15 to 16°C. Its bright acidity suits roast chicken, grilled salmon, mushroom dishes and pork tenderloin, and it is easy to pour at a weeknight dinner or a casual party.
