Argiolas Costamolino Vermentino di Sardegna 2025 is a dry white wine from Sardinia, Italy, made from 100% Vermentino under the Vermentino di Sardegna DOC and bottled in a 750ml screw-cap bottle.
Argiolas was founded by Antonio Argiolas and is still run by the Argiolas family from Serdiana, north of Cagliari; it farms about 600 acres of native Sardinian grapes. Costamolino comes from vineyards on silty-loam soil in the Trexenta hills, at about 625 feet. The grapes are fermented slowly at cool temperatures in stainless steel and rested there for a few months on the fine lees, with no oak.
Winebow, the importer, describes pine and mint aromas with ripe stone fruit and sweet citrus, and a vibrant, textured palate with lingering acidity.
For Pinot Grigio drinkers it is an easy step up, with more texture and a Mediterranean herbal edge at a similar price.
Serve it well chilled with grilled squid, clams, spaghetti with bottarga, lobster or a plate of fresh fava beans and fennel.
