Bota Box Cabernet Sauvignon

Bota Box says its Cabernet keeps fresh for up to a month after you open it, because the bag inside the box keeps out light and air. That's the reason to buy it: a glass when you want one, without finishing a bottle.

It's a California Cabernet Sauvignon from Bota Box, vinted and bottled in Manteca and part of Delicato Family Wines, a family company founded there in 1924. The 3L box holds the same as four 750ml bottles, and the 500ml mini pours about three glasses. It's 13% alcohol.

The winery describes black cherry, violet and a hint of black peppercorn, then a jammy, juicy palate of blackberry pie and black currant with spice on the finish.
