Saero Zero Sugar Soju 375ml

Saero is a zero-sugar soju from Lotte Chilsung Beverage, the South Korean company behind Chum Churum. It launched in Korea in September 2022 and passed 100 million bottles in its first seven months. Since January 2024 it has been distributed in the US by Spirit of Gallo, part of E. & J. Gallo, which sells it as its own brand.

Saero contains zero sugar: an alternative sweetener takes the place of fructose. It's 16% alcohol, according to Gallo, after Lotte trimmed it from 16.5% in Korea in 2023. The US bottle is 375ml.

Gallo describes it as refreshing and crisp, with a smooth, clean finish. The name means new in Korean.

Against Soonhari Apple Mango Soju, Saero is stronger, unflavored and sugar-free rather than sweet and fruity; for a clean soju without sugar, choose Saero.

At 16%, Saero is a third stronger than the 12% Soonhari flavors, so pour small measures. Serve it cold with Korean barbecue or fried chicken.
