Elmer T. Lee Single Barrel is named after the Buffalo Trace master distiller who introduced Blanton's, the first commercial single barrel bourbon, in 1984. It is bottled at 45% (90 proof) at the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky.
Each bottle comes from a single barrel of the distillery's high-rye mash bill, the same recipe as Blanton's. It is complex and fruity, with cinnamon, hazelnut, dried fruit, honey and a long, gently spicy finish.
Elmer T. Lee is a quieter, harder-to-find alternative to Blanton's, and worth buying when you see it. For a ten-year-old single barrel from the same distillery, see Eagle Rare.
Sip it neat or with a single ice cube.
We carry it in the 750ml size, in limited quantities. More bottles are under bourbon, and the rest of our whiskey is a click away. Pick it up at our Brooklyn store or get same-day delivery in Brooklyn, Manhattan & Queens.
