Old Forester Single Barrel Rye Barrel Strength 750ml

This is Old Forester's rye bottled from one barrel at a time, unfiltered and at full barrel strength, the brand's first barrel-strength rye. Each barrel is different, so the proof and the details shift from bottle to bottle.

It starts from the same recipe as Old Forester Rye: 65% rye, 15% corn and 20% malted barley, a lot of barley for a rye, which keeps the fermentation natural and adds a floral, malty side. At barrel strength it's dessert first on the nose, vanilla, lemon custard, caramel and dark brown sugar, then a full palate of ripe orchard fruit, cinnamon, dill and hazelnut, and a long, spicy finish with black pepper, anise and mint.

If you like the regular Old Forester Rye, this is the same whiskey with nothing taken away.

Pour it neat and add water slowly. Each barrel will take a different amount.
