Paul Hobbs Winery is based in Sebastopol, in Sonoma County, and its Russian River Valley Chardonnay belongs to the winery's appellation range.

For the 2022 the grapes were picked by hand at night and pressed as whole clusters. The wine fermented in barrel with native yeasts, went through its malolactic fermentation naturally in barrel, and aged 12 to 15 months on its lees in French oak, about a third of it new. The winery made 7,675 cases.

The UK importer describes citrus peel, Asian pear, apple, tropical fruit and gardenia, with brioche, cream and savory minerality.
