Planteray 3 Stars Silver Rum

Planteray 3 Stars, sold as Plantation 3 Stars until the 2024 rename, blends rums from three islands: two- to three-year-old column still rum from Trinidad, unaged column and pot still rum from Barbados, and unaged Jamaican pot still rum with a little 10-year-old Jamaican. It is made by Maison Ferrand from molasses and bottled at 41.2%.

It is dry and lightly aromatic, with lemongrass, grass, brown sugar and a little vanilla.

3 Stars is our pick for a Daiquiri: drier and more interesting than Bacardi Superior, and still easy on the wallet. If you want more Jamaican funk, add a splash of Wray & Nephew.

Shake two ounces with an ounce of fresh lime juice and three-quarters of an ounce of simple syrup for a classic Daiquiri, or build a Mojito with mint and soda.
